Thank goodness for Yelp!
We were on our way back to Omaha from Okoboji and lunchtime lined up with Sioux City so we searched for options.
This place is a hidden gem, hole-in-the-wall (although not really), and definitely worth stopping by.
The outside is...less than inviting. Boarded up windows, rough parking lot, and overall hardly any curb appeal. Don't let that scare you!
The inside is a lot nicer than the outside. Very clean bar restaurant and while not the first place you would think to bring a family (with young kids) we were pleasantly surprised how family friendly it was.
Our server was friendly, engaging to the kids (and us) and just overall great at her job! The whole experience felt welcoming and relaxed.
My husband got a burger and I was between the Thai Wrap or Reuben. She suggested the Reuben and so I obliged. We also both got the house chips per everyone else's recommendation and they were some of the best chips I've ever had!
Reuben was delicious although my ONLY change is that I wish the marble rye was thicker so the outside was crispy and the middle was soft/doughy. The entire bread was a little on the crunchy side for me. The corned beef and sauer kraut were excellent!
Lastly, the rest (albeit dark) was clean and I also noticed all the tables and condiments were full (salt and pepper shakers) and the ketchup bottles were clean. Weird idiosyncratic observation, I know, but I'm a firm believer if you care about the little things then you'll lend attention to the big things.
By all means, stop on by if you're passing by Sioux City! -

The food here is phenomenal!
The Dublin Nachos are out of this world.
It's a little hole in the wall on highway 75, but it's well worth the stop!
It looks a little dumpy on the outside, but the food is honestly so so good!
This place is always packed when I drive by.
They also host parties.
The food is a tad pricey, but the portions DO match the price.
Best bar food I've ever had! -

Fun bar atmosphere and nice waitresses that are engaged in their job. Food was good. Recommend the Rueben and chip fries, ranch dressing is good for the ranch snobs! Played karma chameleon on the juke box and there were bikers jamming, great stories between rapid city and ames, we will be back next time.

Went to Half Moon based on Yelp ratings which were spot on! Food and drinks were awesome as was the service From Jill. We will definitely include Half Moon in our itinerary when traveling through Iowa

All the reviews said this place had excellent food and I agree. Our family stopped for a quick meal as we passed through Sioux City. It was worth the short detour off the interstate. I was concerned since it is a bar if it was appropriate for our teens and there was not an issue at all. The server was really friendly and did a great job even though she was swamped. She made sure everything was right for us.
